JBT has always excelled in supporting protein processors throughout their journey of growth, from small-scale to large-scale operations. Our range of solutions caters to businesses of all sizes, including start-ups and established food producers. However, with the acquisition of alco in 2022, JBT’s ability to offer solutions has expanded even further, making us capable of providing even more flexible solutions throughout the complete further processing line and to assist all sizes of protein-processing companies.
This is the message that JBT will be looking to convey at upcoming trade exhibition, Foodex Manufacturing Solutions 2023, which takes place in the NEC Birmingham, UK from April 24-26. JBT, which provides solutions to protein companies from meat and non-meat protein to poultry and seafood, will be highlighting innovations from some of its many brand names, including Frigoscandia, DSI, Stein, Double D, Formcook, Avure, Proseal, Schröder and, for the first time, alco.
Introducing alco solutions
“Thanks to the acquisition of alco in summer 2022, JBT has been able to expand its product line, knowledge and expertise for protein customers,” says Barry Jackson, JBT Regional Sales Manager for North West Europe.
“JBT has the largest range of cooking solutions in the industry and the addition of alco has allowed us to broaden that range even further.”
“With equipment designed for lower volumes and smaller production lines, alco has solutions which are ideal for small to medium-sized companies too. JBT has the largest range of cooking equipment in the industry and the addition of alco has allowed us to broaden that range even further.”
As well as the alco range, JBT will be highlighting the new DSI 812 Waterjet Portioner (pictured), which has also been adapted to the needs to smaller-sized companies. “The DSI 812 is a single unit: it’s more compact than Waterjet Portioners in the past with built-in high pressure pump,” Jackson continues. “It’s plug-and-play design mean it’s ideally suited for customers, especially in the poultry industry, and now with slightly lower capacities.”
Reconnecting in-person
As a market, Jackson says the UK has always been at the forefront of new product development in the food industry, often acting as a stepping stone for products to be further developed in continental Europe. For this reason, he says the country remains a major market for JBT within the greater EMEA region.
Attracting companies from across the country’s food industry, Foodex Manufacturing Solutions provides an opportunity for JBT to reconnect in person with both establish and new customers, adds Jackson. “This is the first time we’ve exhibited at the show since the pandemic, so it will be great to see customers again and meet new ones as well,” he concludes.
