Beef Halopack - Proseal

Update: CFIA has been postponed and will now take place from May 26-28, 2020.

JBT will be highlighting the ability of the Frigoscandia FLoFREEZE and the Sequential Defrost option to extend production hours and improve hygiene, as well as the multiple sustainable packaging options available from one of the newest members of the JBT family, Proseal, at CFIA 2020, which takes place from May 26-28 in Rennes, France.

A long-established trade event, which this year celebrates its 24th edition, CFIA attracts visitors from across the French region of Brittany – the number one agro-food region in Europe – and beyond. JBT, in its 16th consecutive appearance as an exhibitor at the show, will focus its participation on solutions and technologies that can deliver real added value to customers.

Pioneering technology
One of JBT’s key technologies being highlighted at CFIA will be the Frigoscandia FLoFREEZE® IQF freezer, a pioneering technology in the field of individual freezing for vegetables, soft fruits, fish and other high-value IQF products, which remains at the forefront of the industry, thanks to its versatility and ability to deliver true fluidization.

JBT´s innovative Sequential Defrost technology ensures that optimal production capacities of up to 18 tons per hour can be achieved on the company’s Frigoscandia FLoFREEZE M-series, with the ability to easily modify the airflow for different product types and sizes. Crucially, the system can run for a minimum of six days at full capacity before defrosting is required, enabling customers to make substantial efficiencies in energy and running costs.

“It’s a huge work to defrost a freezer, so you want to push that work back as long as possible,” says Stefan Paulsson, JBT’s Director of Value Stream & Global Product Line for Frigoscandia. “Every defrost costs time, water and heat, plus you can’t produce while you are carrying out the defrost, so a longer operating time means you can run longer and improve efficiency.”

Sustainable packaging
Proseal will also form a key part of the JBT presence at CFIA, with the UK-based company set to showcase its advanced tray sealing solutions that satisfy the needs of a wide variety of products and applications including the increased focus on sustainable packaging.

The tray sealing specialist’s ability has the ability to ready a wide range of tray formats for retail shelves, at fast speeds and in line with individual customer requirements. Models range from the semi-automatic Proseal GTR, ideal for smaller scale enterprises and new product development, to the high-speed, fully automatic Proseal GT6e with a maximum speed of 96 Vacuum-Gas packs per minute or 160 Atmospheric Seal packs per minute on an 8-impression tool.

The increasing focus on more sustainable packaging is fuelling growing demand from both retailers and consumers for more environmentally friendly solutions, and this has led many food producers to explore alternative packaging materials. Proseal’s entire range of tray sealing machines is readily equipped to handle this widening range such as board and pulp, enabling manufacturers to adopt new pack formats without additional and costly investment.

JBT will be exhibiting at Hall 7, Stand B7 at CFIA 2020, which takes place from May 26-28, 2020 at Parc Expo, Rennes Airport, Rennes, France.
