Keen to take advantage of impingement freezing to preserve fish, seafood and meat quality, but limited on space? The newly-launched ADVANTEC™ Narrow Impingement Freezer brings all of benefits of the existing ADVANTEC, but with a radically-reduced floorspace, allowing it to fit into most existing production line layouts.
The ADVANTEC Narrow also offers significant benefits to customers looking to make the switch from cryogenic gas freezers, prompted by the rapidly rising cost of the gas worldwide.
Thanks to its smaller dimensions, the Narrow allows processors that had been using cryogenic freezing equipment – typically with a smaller width than the standard ADVANTEC – to move to the more modern, full-impingement method, enabling better and longer production hours, and a more cost-effective freezing solution.
How it works
Developed and designed as an answer to specific market and customer needs, the ADVANTEC Narrow offers high-speed freezing of flat products up to 25 mm thick, and chill and crust freeze of products up to 200 mm thick– such as meat, seafood and fish – where freezing in a quick and highly-efficient way is vital.
Using innovative air jet technology, the ADVANTEC system freezes foods in minutes, preserving product quality, taste and mouthfeel, and avoiding the potential damage caused by drip-loss and ice crystals in conventional freezers. The process minimizes dehydration and maximizes yield, while also increasing product shelf-life.
Maximizing space
While undoubtedly effective, the previous version of the ADVANTEC presented a challenge to companies with capacity and space limitations. In consultation with customers, JBT engineers came up with the ADVANTEC Narrow, a freezer that offers all the benefits and capacity of the first iteration but over a radically reduced amount of floorspace.
The ADVANTEC Narrow is not only convenient in size and makes replacing other freezing solutions easy and effortless, but comes with all the same high-capacity performance and advanced impingement technology as the standard ADVANTEC Impingement freezer.
“Seeing that our customers wanted to maximize their production facilities, JBT has now developed a narrow footprint version of the ADVANTEC, says Torbjörn Persson, Director of Global Sales Support & Product Line Management for Frigoscandia Freezers.
“The new freezer has a much more narrow footprint being approximately 1.2 meters narrower and has sliding doors that enable easy access for defrost and cleaning. This area can also be used for access for transport during production.
“Even with a narrower footprint, the freezing capabilities are identical to the standard ADVANTEC, allowing customers to benefit from a truly innovative freezing system.”
