JBT will be contributing to a working empanada production line, as well as a functioning bacon line, at Process Expo 2023, the annual showcase for food and beverage processing, which takes place in Chicago’s McCormick Place convention center from October 23-25.
The processing lines form just part of an extensive JBT presence at the 2023 show, which this year will include the full spectrum of JBT companies and solutions, including the newest addition to the family, the Innospexion x-ray system.
The empanada line will feature a Frigoscandia GYRoCOMPACT 40 self-stacking spiral freezer – the most compact, hygienic and efficient spiral freezer ever made – while the bacon line will include a JBT Schröder BRIMAX Brine Preparation System.
As well as contributing to the live production lines, JBT’s presence at Process Expo will each day feature seminars on the benefits and possibilities offered by JBT’s OmniBlu™ (pictured below), the innovative, subscription-based connected support package that brings together best-in-class service, parts availability, and machine optimization capabilities.

Expo debuts
Highlights for the 2023 edition from JBT include the all-new 2024 UltraCAT Mepsco Injector for bone-in or boneless meat injection. Perfect for pork bellies, poultry and seafood, the system can deliver production rates of up to 35,000 lbs per hour, increasing yield and throughput in the process. The UltraCAT also helps deliver reduced maintenance through improved uptime.
Other solutions being featured at the JBT booth include a Stein XLE Electric Breader and a Tipper Tie SVU6800 Automatic Double Clipper;
Process Expo 2023 also marks the debut of the Innospexion x-ray system as part of the JBT family. A revolutionary bone-detection system that is raising the standard for accurate identification of even the smallest bones in poultry or fish, Innospexion allows customers to improve yield and product quality across a production line.
